This trophy was presented to California Yacht Club on behalf of the 1990 Bridge to honor the work of Commodore Richard Zimbert in the advancement of the Junior Program. The winner shall have demonstrated sportsmanship in many forms, notably constructive participation, and lending assistance to others. The winner is someone who can see that sailboat racing is a fun part of life, but understands winning is, by itself, far from the totality of what sailing is all about; someone who does not cheat and is never so self-absorbed as to be unable to lend a hand to the less skilled.
