Sail Together and Create New Connections
The Daysail Program invites members to experience the joy and community of sailing in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Through this program, Club boat owners generously volunteer their vessels and time, inviting fellow CYC members aboard for afternoons on Santa Monica Bay. It is an open invitation to get out on the water, regardless of whether you own a boat or have sailing experience.
A typical Daysail may include a cruise along the coastline, light refreshments, and plenty of time to unwind, talk, and take in the scenery. Members often describe the atmosphere as one of pure connection—champagne, charcuterie, sunshine, and shared laughter are common themes. Skippers enjoy sharing their boats and knowledge, while guests appreciate the chance to deepen friendships, practice sailing roles informally, or simply enjoy being offshore.
Daysails are open to all members, and participation continues to grow as word spreads about this uniquely personal and enjoyable experience. Many members credit Daysails with helping them meet new boating partners, interact across membership categories, and feel more deeply integrated into life at the Club. To learn more or reserve a space on an upcoming Daysail, members may contact the Daysail Program Co-Chair directly. Each outing offers connection, adventure, and a reminder of why life on the water is at the heart of CYC.
