Paddle Tennis
Paddle tennis is the original court sport at the California Yacht Club and has been a cherished part of club life for nearly six decades. CYC offers two paddle tennis programs: Mixed Doubles and Women’s Paddle Tennis. While members certainly love the competitive nature of the game, paddle tennis at CYC is equally about family, lifelong friendships, and the memories created together. Our vibrant community enjoys not only playing on the court but also spending time together off the court, socializing, sharing stories, and planning activities.
Looking ahead, the paddle tennis program continues to grow. In 2026, CYC plans to expand its offerings with the addition of a dedicated paddle coach, Liveball-style classes, expanded lessons, and more inner-club social events. These enhancements are designed to support players of all levels, strengthen the paddle community, and create even more opportunities for members to connect through the sport they love.

Mixed Doubles Paddle Tennis
Mixed Doubles Paddle Tennis is an exciting and fast-paced game enjoyed by members of all ages and skill levels. Paddle tennis, sometimes called POP Tennis, is similar to tennis but played on a smaller court with a lower net, no doubles alleys, solid-faced paddles, lower-compression balls, and an underhand serve. Open play is held on Thursdays from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. These sessions offer the perfect balance of light-hearted competition, exercise, and social connection, along with opportunities to participate in interclub round robins and mixers with nearby paddle tennis groups.
Women’s Paddle Tennis
Women’s Paddle Tennis, organized by CYCWA, holds regular games every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Often referred to as “mini tennis,” the game is accessible, fun, and ideal for a wide range of ages and skill levels, especially for those who have played tennis before. Beginners are always welcome, paddles are available for use, and members are encouraged to stop by and give it a try. Across both programs, paddle tennis at CYC brings together generations of players and creates a strong sense of belonging that makes it one of the club’s most rewarding activities.
