California Yacht Club is proud to offer members a premier location for hosting private events, with preferred rental rates and exclusive access to select spaces. Whether you are planning a family celebration, business gathering, or milestone moment, the Club provides a stunning waterfront backdrop and exceptional hospitality. Non-members may also host events at CYC, but members enjoy priority booking, special pricing, and additional amenities that elevate the overall experience.

Members of California Yacht Club enjoy one of the most beautiful event venues in Marina del Rey. From intimate gatherings to elegant galas, CYC combines natural beauty with privacy and convenience. Although easily accessible from anywhere in Los Angeles, the Club feels like a retreat, nestled on a quiet private peninsula just minutes from LAX and within walking distance of hotels, restaurants, and harbor activities.

Our Catering team partners with each host to tailor menus, coordinate logistics, and create experiences that are seamless from start to finish. Whether you envision a wedding celebration, a milestone birthday, an anniversary dinner, or a company event, our staff is committed to bringing your vision to life with care and precision.

To ensure every host receives the attention they deserve, all site visits are scheduled by appointment.

Events Aboard Northwind

Members have the exclusive opportunity to host private events aboard the Northwind, our 130-foot historic yacht and one of the most unique event venues in Marina del Rey.The Northwind’s combination of interior lounges, open-air decks, and panoramic marina views creates a warm and memorable atmosphere for cocktail receptions, sunset parties, micro-weddings, and VIP gatherings.

Filming and Production

California Yacht Club and the Northwind are available for select filming and commercial photography. With a marina backdrop, timeless architecture, and an iconic classic yacht, the location appeals to productions ranging from television and film to commercial and editorial shoots. All requests are reviewed individually based on scope, scheduling, and compatibility with Club operations.

Filming at CYC

CYC welcomes film shoots for television shows, films, and print ads.

All filming requests go through the Dock Master, Chase Young, for filming on the docks, and on Club property. The Club is closed for business on Mondays and Tuesdays and can therefore accommodate large production teams. Filming on Wednesday through Friday is dependent on the size of the production and the activity level of the Club on that day.

Rates include parking for crew, trailers, and equipment (Monday and Tuesday only, you must use county parking Wednesday through Friday), and an area for catering services and restrooms on the docks.

We have a 90-foot guest dock available if you want to bring a boat into the anchorage for filming. A front lawn area overlooks Sail and Power boats in the marina as does the large outdoor pool. There are docks and gangways suitable for movement through the anchorage.

Standard Agreement fees are determined by the extent of the filming areas and length of time prep, filming, and breakdown. A $40 per hour fee is charged for a CYC employee liaison who will be here through your contract to assist you with the Club facilities. Some members are willing to charter their boats for film shoots, but arrangements are made directly with the owner via the Dock Master. Filming on the docks requires an LA County lifeguard be present. All filming permits must be completed prior to filming. Insurance coverage stipulations are included in the contract.

There is no filming permitted without a license agreement between the Club and the production company.
