Level 1 & Level 2 – Learn to Sail (Ages 7–10)

Boats: RS Teras | Schedule: Saturdays
Level 1: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Level 2: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM ​

Level 1 and 2 form the foundation of our sailing pathway. Designed for beginners, these classes teach young sailors how to rig and de-rig their boats, tie essential knots, understand wind direction, and sail all points of sail.

​The focus is on safety, seamanship, and fun — building the excitement that sparks a lifelong love of sailing
 


Double-Handed Intermediate – Developing Team Racing Skills (Ages 12–16)

Boats: Double-Handed Dinghies | Schedule: Saturdays, 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Our Double-Handed Intermediate group is for sailors ready to take the next step in their sailing journey.
This program builds teamwork, communication, and double-handed sailing and racing fundamentals. Sailors will develop partner coordination, Spinnaker skills, and fundamental racing techniques.

Optimist Green Fleet – Introduction to Racing (Ages 8–12)

Boats: Optimist | Schedule: Sundays, 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM

The Green Fleet is our bridge from learning to sail to learning to race. Sailors are introduced to the fundamentals of racing, including starting sequences, mark roundings, and basic rules and right-of-way.

This program emphasizes sportsmanship, confidence, and teamwork while giving sailors their first taste of competition in a fun, encouraging setting.
 


Optimist Championship Fleet – Competitive Racing Team (Ages 9–14)

Boats: Optimist | Schedule: Fridays 3:30 PM – Sunset | Saturdays & Sundays 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM

The Championship Fleet is our advanced racing team — for sailors dedicated to pushing their skills to the next level. Practices focus on advanced boat handling, strategy, and performance racing techniques.

This team represents CYC at local, regional, national and international regattas, gaining big-fleet experience and exposure to high-level competition.
 


420 Race Team – Advanced Racing Program (Ages 13–18)

Boats: C420 & I420 | Schedule: Saturdays & Sundays

The CYC 420 Race Team is our most advanced youth racing program for skilled, competitive sailors.

Training focuses on high-performance boat handling, spinnaker work, tactics, and teamwork.
Sailors compete at local, regional, national, and international regattas. The 420 class is a key pathway to college sailing and national success. This program builds leadership, discipline, and lifelong friendships.
