CYC offers a range of summer rowing experiences designed to meet the developmental needs of athletes across ages and skill levels—from middle and high school rowers to current college athletes. Summer is the perfect season to sharpen small-boat skills, and the breathtaking waters of Marina del Rey create an unmatched training environment. Both fun and foundational, CYC summer camps are designed to build skills, confidence, and momentum for the next stage of your rowing journey.
Camp Options
Youth Learn-to-Row Camp
Perfect for athletes ages 12-18 with no prior experience, this introductory camp teaches rowing fundamentals, water safety, and basic boat handling. Campers enjoy a mix of fun drills, teamwork activities, and additional activities, making it an ideal first step into the sport.
Intermediate Youth Rowing Camp
This camp is designed for scullers ages 12-18 who have some experience (or who have only participated in sweep rowing) but who need further help developing fundamentals. The Intermediate Camp focuses on refining technique, improving fitness, and refining small boat skills. This camp helps young rowers progress confidently and prepares them for the transition into full team participation.
Junior Rowing High Performance Camp
For high school athletes with at least one racing season, this camp provides advanced technical coaching and higher-intensity training. Rowers work on building strength, endurance, and race strategy, helping them prepare for fall competition and potential future collegiate rowing pathways. The program culminates with a trip to the US Rowing Rowfest National Championships in July for interested athletes.
U23/Post-Collegiate High Performance Camp
Designed for current university athletes and recent college grads seeking a competitive edge through focused summer training and racing, this camp emphasizes small-boat development. Training will primarily center on sculling, with limited sweep opportunities available. Athletes with little sculling experience are encouraged to apply if they are motivated to learn. The program culminates with an optional trip to the USRowing Rowfest National Championships in July.
